Am I at Risk?

At Heart Attack Prevention Strategies, we are very thorough in assessing your risk. The first step is a detailed medical history that is reviewed by the doctor. It looks for any family history, or any personal history of any of the below items. These risk factors are known to be associated with cardiovascular disease and are invaluable to the doctor. From there, the doctor will usually explain what tests he recommends for the patient and why. These tests include the Heart Scan, Advanced Lipid testing of blood and urine , Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) test, Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound, Ankle/Brachial Index Test, and the electrocardiogram (EKG). Each of these tests is described in more detail under our professional services page. The doctor usually does not recommend all of them, just what he deems necessary.
